I’ve been asked by a customer if I can apply vinyl to his bus. But it’s to go on the ‘blind’ type thingy that has the desitnation on it. Know what i mean? (?) It’s an old restored bus.
I haven’t yet seen the ‘blind’ thingy or whatever it’s called, but he says it’s a kind of plastic type material. I wondered if banner vinyl would work or if there would be a better option.

If anyone has done anything along these lines I’d be interested to know what would be best to use.

    (just don’t say a paint brush! 😀 )

    thanks Peter.
My customer already has destination blinds on the bus and is just looking for the text. I just wondered if it was possible to vinyl them??????
I see they sell vinyls but not for that purpose so perhaps they’re all inked maybe?

Oops…the only one I’ve ever done was with a paintbrush!
It was a real PITA too.
I have no idea what banner vinyl is, but you’ll definately need something thin, with GOOD adhesive properties.

    :lol1: thanks Jill!
I have a feeling that paint maybe the only way to go ……….
Banner vinyl is very soft and pliable, quite stretchy.

    Hi Marcella,
Looking at the website peter mentioned the blinds look as if they are screen printed as there’s a handbench and drying racks in the background of one of the pictures on their site.

    Cheers John

Yeah, but, if they do fleets of busses then they would screen print.

Without seeing it, and if it is a plasticy type material, I’d certainly start with banner vinyl.

Marcella, I have added names to these blinds using banner vinyl, never had a complaint yet.

as a ex- bus driver, i would ask him what condition his blind is in? as it can crack, rip n split. if its new then your laughing, oh n the viewing area is essential too. *drink*
