  • Has anyone dealt successfully with an ID Consultant???

Posted by Kev Mayger on August 5, 2011 at 2:05 pm

    Hi all,

We have been getting phone calls & emails from a company called ID Consultants asking us to pay £350 up front to open a case for us. So they can be our ‘agent’ to look into lowering our business rates.

Does anyone know anything more about this?

    Thanks

    Kev

i can help lower your business rates by £300
    dont pay them…

you now only have to pay me £50 for my consultancy fee. invoice in the post monday, ill even give you 30 days. 😉 :lol1:

i would have hung up on them. too much of this crap going on these days.
tell them to come in and sit down face to face. explain how it works and what guarantees they give. get company details and references from existing customers.

nah, in fact, just hangup and get on with your business. 😉 :lol1:

I agree with Rob, say no thanks and hang up.

I reckon 8/10 calls I get are from unsolicited sales, 2/10 seem very dodgy.

Ask them to email details and contact info, most never do.

Do you know that this sort of consultancy work is totally self generated by more paper pushers to give themselves work of the back of REAL workers…
    Parasites id call them…
DONT rely on strangers to run or advise you on your business who have no knowledge of the subject…once they have your money for advice on business rates, they will move on or ask for more money for this that and the other…’we will save you money’ will mean, at best, rerouting the saving into their own pockets.

This is a little bit of advice and it is FREE.
Tell these people to get lost.

its a con all they do is apply for a rate review on forms you can get and fill in yourself, most applications arent successful or worse the result can be an increase in rates but for the few that are successfull they take a cut of the reduction as well.

Do it through your local valuation office or dont bother 😕

if you think your rates are too high, contact your local council.

we have just had a very nice lady look over it for us and we now have rates of nearly 50% less…..

a chap down the road, paid £900 for someone to "look in to it" for him… hes still waiting! Surprise.
