Paul Rafferty I shall keep trying to develop my skills to be as good as people like Paul and our Mike but I wish they’d stop getting better so I can catch up. πŸ™‚ Good innit. The only thing digital is the picture on the "Shoulder of Mutton" post sign, the Wacky Races is all airbrushed, and the glass sign is glue chipped, gilded, hand painted in reverse god knows what else.

That’s it…I’m giving up and buggering off.

I’m sure I can get a job as a crash test dummy or something.

You know…something a mortal can do.

    Bleeding good work innit?

No offence meant – but we’ve seen your photo and thought you’d done that job before coming into signs πŸ˜‰

In response to Steve original post:

Paul Rafferty is an extremely gifted maker of signs…I’ve met him and he’s a nice chap too!…these examples are typical of his work and I just wish we could persuade him to do more stuff on the site here…he has so much to teach!

    as for Alan’s post: πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

I REALLY APPRECIATE THAT STEVE, AND THE KIND WORDS FROM MIKE.
ONCE I’VE FIGURED POSTING PICS N STUFF I’LL PUT SOME PHOTO’S ON OF MY EARLY WORK. NOW SOME OF THAT WAS CRAP.
I’VE SPENT MOST OF MY LIFE TAKING IN ALL THE GRAPHICS THAT SURROUND US, RETAINING THE GOOD BITS IN MIND ASWELL AS THE BAD, REMEMBERING NOT TO USE OTHER PEOPLES MISTAKES BUT TO TAKE THE GOOD BITS AND IMPROVE ON THEM.
THE GOOD THING ABOUT OUR LINE OF WORK IS THAT THERE IS ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT AND ENHANCEMENTS.
FORTUNATELY I WAS GIVEN AN AIRBRUSH AT A VERY EARLY AGE AND A SPRAYCAN EVEN EARLIER.
GRAFFITI WAS MY EARLY PASSION, WHICH I THINK GAVE ME A GOOD START WITH BIG LETTERS AND COLOUR, I THINK MY POINT IS THAT DESIGN IS ALL AROUND, BE IT ON A WALL, SHOP FRONT OR SUPERMARKET SHELF.
IT’S JUST A MATTER OF BEING AWARE.
