hand painted banner: pfiefer hardware
Posted by Jill Marie Welsh on January 26, 2005 at 10:00 pmHere’s one I did today for a home show. 2×10 enamel receptive banner.
Hand-painted in 1-Shot, no patterns no clip art, just a Stabilo and a ruler
and a quick layout using Letterhead Fonts.

Peter, it took me a total of 5 hours start to finish & cost me $25 in materials.
It is for a very dear friend so I am charging him $100.
If it was for a customer it would be twice that.
The alphabet used on Pfeifer is based on one of Charles Strong’s from about 1910.
If it was good enough for Strong, it is good enough for me.

you really do undersell yourself, You are an artist, and to tell the truth, if I could hand paint that sort of quality, I would be asking a lot more,

I am lovin that a lot Jill
I am going to show this to jules to encourage her to do more painted signs
She is a fantastic artist/illustrator with a computer phobia and it would add a fantastic new dimension to our business.
Thanks for sharing Jill

Thanks gys-n-gals.
Terry, I get thses enamel receptive banners from US Banner Corp out of Greenville, South Carolina. They distribute through my local N. Glantz & Son.You must specify ER. They are a nice heavy-duty banner.
They are great, been using them for years.
I’ve never had any cracking or adhesion problems.
You must ROLL the banner painted side out, never fold it.
If you’re worrying about sticking, after the thing has dried at least 2 days,
you may dust it with cornstarch or baby powder before rolling.
This wipes off easily.
