Hammond – Big Partial Wrap!
We designed, produced and installed this partial wrap for a Haulage firm’s new Tractor Unit in about 4 working days, ready for it to go out on the road. We hadn’t seen the actual unit until we arrived on site to install the graphics…
The rest of their fleet is Silver, but as this one is on lease it came as white, by looking at the 3D images on the Volvo website, and comparing it with what was on the template, we put together this little design that works with the lines of the body work, and ties in with some of their other vehicles.
The silver wrap was using 3m 1080 film, with wrap cut first put down following the lines of the body work. If future we may cut the vinyl to size using a straight edge, using the edge for the tops, just so we had more excess to vinyl to manipulate the wrap around the curves.
The Company Name was printed and plotted, as they had issues with their previous trucks peeling and cracking, the MD5 will be more than up to the job, and the company logo on the cab top is Metamark M7 with the same 1080 silver overlaid.
The customer’s delighted with the finished job, and we should be getting their vehicles on an ongoing basis, my only personal gripe is the finishing around the handles, as we couldn’t get them off, and working around them wasn’t the easiest of things.
Overall it look’s OK, but I wish I had the time, and technique to get the handles more refined.
