  • H&S signs pricing help needed

Posted by Jeremy Howes on May 24, 2009 at 8:03 pm

    Hello,
I have been contacted by an H&S consultancy company to supply their signage, this was by recommendation and it could lead to bigger projects.

I have attached a jpeg of their first requirements, would some kind sole offer some help in pricing?

Many thanks for looking and any comments would be appreciated.

    Best regards
    Jeremy

Just go by what a typical ‘signs and labels / safety sign’ catalogue would charge.

Quick search online for ‘safety signs’ will give you numerous mainstream sites.

Probably looking at £4-5 for the small ones and £12-15 for the larger if ‘stock’ items are a guide….plus £1 for the ‘fitting kit’.

    Thanks for the reply Dave,

Would you recommend those prices even at 25 off of each design, 50 x small and 75 x large?

    Cheers

I think that’s a bit expensive for those, how are you going to make these, cut vinyl or print?

i think them prices are a bit dear, i have attached my retail price list. I print mine so cut vinyl would be different. I supply a local engineering supplier & i give them 30% off bulk orders which still leaves me a healthy profit. If you are printing add "Supplied by So & So & tel no," this adds a personal touch for there company which most companies like.

    Jason and Kevin.
Apologies for not getting back to you sooner, business has been a little hectic after the Holiday break.

Jason, originally these were going to be made with cut vinyl but I weeded a few on a dry run, took into account what Kevin had to say and soon decided to buy in the print.

Kevin, What a gent you are, the price list came in very handy and was surprisingly close to my own figures, I particularly like the idea of offering the inclusion of the company’s contact details, that’s an excellent selling point.

Just two more questions, do you print onto clear or white vinyl and do you print the cut lines for trimming?

Many thanks for your help on this one.

I print on to white & include a cut line to aid trimming once mounted on to the board. I use a 900 micron Penta board from Europoint basically same board that they screen the signs to. I cut it with a knife then use a corner rounder to finish them. For harsh environments I laminate prints first.

Hi Kev, do you use solvent or a thermal process for these?

Eco Solvent, normally print a 1500mm x 1150mm sheet where possible & mount with the Ezy Taper. Smaller stuff i just fit in with other print jobs or print popular signs i know i will sell at a push i drop down to 760mm material
