Oh no George sorry to hear that …. what a terrible thing to have to come back to!!! Fluffing theives …. grrrrrrrrr!! 👿

Its a case of you would rather give them away than have someone steal them … not a nice feeling at all!! Will you be able to claim on your insurance for the tools?

Hi what fitting tools are you needing to use, I am a small workshop if I can help, Sorry you are going along this path, Sign of the Times, sorry to say,
Don’t have holidays, sit at home, can of beer in one hand and shotgun on stand by. I never understood our USA fellows shoot first, ask second, but I am slowly coming around to that way of thinking.

    Sorry Mate Graham

    George,

We had a van stolen some years ago and the problem was not the loss of a rather ratty old van that we should have replaced years before anyway, but the realisation if I want something I have to work long and hard to earn it whereas these villains can just help themselves to anything they take a fancy to leaving the original owner to pick up the bill.

Tools are a bit more personal than a scabby old Astra, so you have my sympathy.

Funny that America should be mentioned. I was looking into property in North Carolina a few weeks ago and I was amazed at how cheap household contents insurance is. I was told that the reason for that is that they don’t get many burglaries. I suppose the knowledge that they may have to pay the ultimate sacrifice for their actions puts a lot of potential thieves off.

sorry to hear that george. Been a victim a few times myself. My parents got robbed 4 days in a row (unbelievable but true) 😮

Keep an eye out at the pub I’d say.

Do you have car park flea markets over there? The local police here reckon that stolen goods is where most of the stock comes from for a few of the store holders…

Could it have been an ex employee? (as in my case) 👿

Sorry to hear about your misfortune George, problem with insurance claims is they never give you the true value of what you have lost and if you are anything like me a few weeks after your claim you start to remember other things that were stolen but you left off your original list.

What an awful thing to happen! I think Shane had a good idea, I would check out the car boot sales and auction houses over the next few weeks just in case. Aside from that I hope you did enjoy your holiday.

This happened to me once….20 years of brushes and stuff gone.
I had left my truck unlocked, and my 2 sign kits looked like toolboxes I guess.
It was my fault really, and I’ve never been able to replace everything.
You even had your stuff locked up!
Insurance will more than likely cover it (I got $400) but nothing can replace the things you’ve gotten used to using.
Tuff break and I hope they catch the bastards.
    Love…..Jill

sorry to hear you lost your tools, its about time they sorted this kind of thing out, spend years building stuff up and some muppet swipes it in a couple of minutes…nightmare.

There was a program on tv last night were they placed a telly in the back of a car and filmed it getting stolen. Only problem for the thief was a tracker fitted inside it, also when they turned it on it beamed a live picture of the viewer back to tv crew….GOTCHA ! nice to see em scurm !

We were putting up new signs at our main Post Office last Friday afternoon. Had 2 step ladders set up, van parked about 5 yards away in full sight, left a brand new 3M roll of masking tape on one of the steps on ladder, my girl was up the 2nd set of steps, as they say i was only in the back of the van 10 seconds, came back & yes tape had gone as quick as that.
