    Hi
I have been asked to provide a logo I created in a gsd file format.

I have never came across this before?? Has anyone else?
I think the customer in all honesty isn’t familiar with any sort of graphics when I offer up an .eps or .ai he asked me what they were for?? 😮

Thanks in advance for any replies

Lanie, just done a quick check on a file format site and there is no GSD listed.
    http://www.ace.net.nz/tech/TechFileFormat.html

This is the site have a look for yourself, I would ask the customer what they want it for as this will give you an idea of what will be best suited.

found this too; gsd files are from Professional Draw Vector Graphics using winbackup

    and this resource http://www.liutilities.com/products/win … files/GSD/

The file has probably been backed up, and not copied

Just spoke with the customer, poor guy doesnt know if hes coming or going!

He has just bought a CRAFT ROBO – GRAPHTEC CC100-20, little a4 machine.
His supplier of the machine has told him this is what he needs to use.

Does anyone have any experience of using this machine or the software supplied with it?

    Thanks

    Lanie

GSD is the file extension when you save in the robos own software, just waiting to hear if you can import ai or eps files

Theres a plug in on the disc supplied with the Craft Robo that will allow him to use illustrator, which means he will have to have illustrator already. If he has then he will be able to use ai or eps files.

The file format for the craft robo software is DXF and you can export from Corel draw 12 when you save file type DXF-Autocad. When the image is opened on the robo master software it is a small speck on the bottom left of the screen but it can be resized easily and can be cut to a max of 1meter in length.

    quote Shane Drew:

liutilities have got this one wrong. The extension used in Pro Draw files are .pdw’s. I know ‘cos I’ve been using it for 12 years! Still does pretty much everything I need a vector proggy to do. It’s another VHS vs Betamax. In my opinion Gold Disk were light years ahead of their time when they released this program but they never updated it and it just got lost and completely outsold by Corel and Illustrator.

Thank you all for your replies.
The software supplied is very basic to say the least, but functional.

I visited the client yesterday and now know that 90% of his problems are that he has never used any type of graphic software, or recognizes files types and their various uses and adaptations.

Add to that a temperamental powercord, which he had to rummage in the office to find a make due replacement, poor guy.

again thank you for all your help
