Grenadier printing wrong
Hi Guys,
Been struggling for a few days now to get my printer printing properly. Trying to print a simple image that has blue sky in it and the stupid machine is printing purple instead of blue, what’s all that about. It’s like it printing magenta as well as cyan, and to much of it too. The heads are a bit knackered now on my machine and I do need to change them, but they are still working. If I print a test pattern the colours are printing in the right position and correct order.
Its also printing green where it should be cyan, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Has anyone else had this problem, it was printing fine the other week when it printed a 3m x 1m full print sign and printed if fine.

Colorific ink by any chance?

Yea colorific ink, but its still the same ink batch that was printing normal before. strange

Same thing happened to me. I reduced the percentage magenta in my profile which has helped but I am planning to change to a different ink set once I have used up what I have.

What RIP are you using, I use Wasatch. Is it a problem with the RIP?
I downloaded a demo of Flexisign and that printed better than my wasacth did.

Try reducing the magenta in the artwork, this can help too.
This can happen often depending on the image you are printing or how it has been created.
I remember the very first digital print job we did on 33 vans for Stirling council and it had this crappy magenta tinge through the blend. that was run on an old Roland PC60 many years ago!
Same happened with a bunch of trucks we did about 8 years ago with a sky scene in the artwork. everywhere there was a blue going into a cloud, there was a pink/magenta tinge through it.
our way round it, but not eliminating it, was to reduce the magenta in the artwork. long time ago now, sorry i cant give more detail on solving, but its me old age you see. 😕 :lol1: -

The image I’m trying to print it from my customers iphone. I’ve tried printing some old jobs to compare whats been printed before and they are wrong to, green comes out a muddy brown. I’m stumped. Got a new load of dampers and capping stations on order, so I’ll give the machine a good service and see what happens. Really want to get it converted to use UV ink next.

I suggest you create a temporary profile to compensate. I call mine "Lower magenta" Do this by going print setup – edit – color transforms – halftone properties. in this sub menu (see screen grab below) reduce magenta to 75% then save the new profile giving it a different name to the one you started with.
