  • Grenadier Ink Previously Sold by B&P??

    HI,

I don’t know if anyone can help with our predicament.

We had our Grenadier converted to EcoSol Max inks with the bulk ink system by the old B&P, since there demise we have not needed to replace any of the colours, however we are now running low on one colour and don’t know where to source the same ink.

As we understand it (?) we can’t just buy any old EcoSol Max in the colour we need, as it might be slightly different and possibly damage the printer, but we don’t need a full set and are reluctant to waste the other colours still in stock by starting out with a new full set.

The bottles from B&P have no identification numbers/marks on them, so other suppliers who ring for our business daily can’t guarantee theirs will be the same.

We are a bit stumped on this, has anyone else found a solution since they’ve not been able to get the same ink form B&P, or are we going to be forced down the new full set route??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards
    Steve

b&p converted you to eco-sol max, as ide have expected that to be done by Roland? do you not mean activasol?

Yeah sorry it was Roland who converted it to EcoSol Max inks 😳

We then bought the bulk ink system from B&P and started buying their litre bottles of ink, which is described on the invoice as Extreme Ultra Pro 11/111 and have been using them ever since.

The ink seems to be their own brand, leaving us with the problem that we can’t restock on just the colour we need if this brand doesn’t exist any more.

    Sorry for the confusion there.

    Thanks

I thought that B&P where still running in one way or another, website is still up & running. Didn’t some of the partners reform it or something, have you tried giving them a call

i am sticking my neck out here but this doesn’t make sense to me.
if you converted to Roland eco-sol max inks from activasol, then b&p proceeded to advise you to buy "their own" alternative ink to the Roland brand without flushing the machine, then they more or less contaninated your new ink system with their ink.

Kev is right, b&p has reinvented their company after going bust about 2 months ago. from my own experience of them over the past 18 months or so and the things i have heard. my personal view would be not to deal with them, but thats your call.

    Thanks for the replies.

We did a flush before putting their own brand in, so we should be OK there, what it was, they came onto us selling a maintenance contract with a deal on a full set of inks – their brand at £67.50 per litre, we didnt go for it at first as we’d already just bought some Ecosol Max inks which would all have been wasted, so they said they would refund us on any of our unused Ecosol Max cartridges, and provide a free flush.

We didn’t have a maintenance contract in place at the time, something we’d always been a bit conscious of, so in the end we went for it, that’s how we ended up with their own ink, never anticipating that they’d be unavailable in such a short space of time.

We never did get our refund on the Ecosol Max cartridges and are currently in dispute over an invoice with ‘old’ B&P’s liquidators.

I think you advice re B&P is probably sound advice, we are just a bit stuck on this ink issue.

It’s seems more and more likely, a full new set from a reputible supplier is the route to go maybe.

Update on this is, I contacted ‘new’ B&P by email asking if they still stock the same ink we had from them before, they phoned this morning and advised that they do, I’d given them the exact name as per our previous invoices, and I’ve been told it’s identical. We laboured the point, as mixing a new ink would contaminate the printer, but they assured us it’s the same.

The price is the same as we paid before – £67 per litre bottle, so at least for the time being, we will probably get what we need from them for now, and re-think the situation as regards another flush and replacement at a later date when the general stock of ink is low.

Thanks for all your help guys. Top site.

    Regards
    Steve
