Hello everyone! I was born in Wales, but my parents moved to California when I was only 1! Can you believe the nerve of them? My heart is still in Wales along with the rest of my family. I stumbled upon this site from a post Stevo Chartrand made on another sign forum. I’m sure I will learn a lot from here as I have from the other. I am currently working at a Southern California theme park. Anyone want to guess which one? Here’s a hint, there are 3 of them in Europe. We are only a 2 person sign shop. Our basic job is to maintain the signs in the park, but I usually end up spending most of my time making new signs for special events and new rides. I’ll be here often to learn new tricks and to work on my welsh slang. -Marek 😀

    hi Marek
    welcome to the boards mate
stevos a great guy and i love his traditional style… its got real energy in it! 😛
as for your parents? 😕 what can i say mate… they took you away from the UK when you were just a little’un… no questions asked?
what do you think… should we take a contract out on them? I know some dodgy sign makers that would do it for £25. i dont mean dodgy as in contract killers. just dodgy as in would sell anything without a a care :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:

anyway, enough of my bad jokes….

    you talking disney?

ive been to LA, loved it…. went to notsberry farm, disney land and universal studios, have family there too…
i was there a month, have lots of family there….

Thanks for the welcome Nik and Robert. (!)

    nope, not disney

My Aunt just flew into town last night. She’s from Carmarthen (spelling?) close to Tymbl (spelling?) We’re going to Las Vegas this weekend to watch the Super Bowl (On T.V. of course). That’s American Football for anyone that doesn’t have Skye television. 😀

Hi Mate, welcome to the boards.

Been to california and las vegas for holidays a few years back. Had a hoot. Love the place. Over there when the aussies won the Americas Cup too. Treated like royalty.

    You’ll like it here.

I do work for Warner Bros here in Queensland, they have 5 or 6 sign shops that they troll for the cheapest quote, not including the contractors for Coke etc. My work is mostly the rush rush stuff that the bigger shops can not turn around fast enough.

Keep in touch, show us some of your work (or is that against company policy – I know it is here)

    Anyway, welcome again.

Signtint, we don’t get much coverage of Rugby over here. I’m lucky if I get a chance to watch my favorite team, Manchester United play a game. They did give Arsenal a pretty good spanking the other night though. 😀 😀
dsi, I’m pretty sure it is okay for me to post my work on here, just not sure if I want to with the quality I have seen so far! I definately have a lot to learn.
I’ll be changing my avatar picture soon as well. It was the only picture I had on file here at work. It’s a picture of Kobe Bryant that I put my head onto in photoshop. 3 of my mates are next to me as the other Laker players. (Big Laker fan!)
Thanks again to everyone for the nice welcome. I’ll do my best to contribute where I can to this site.

You are soooo bad Big G.
    Hi Marek, welcome aboard.
Just be glad your folks moved to Cali,
    they could have chosen PA
and then you’d be freezing your cojones off.
I have a few Letterhead pals who work for amusement parks,
I think it would be a great way to use your imagination,
and not have to take orders from customers.
    Love….Jill

I grew up in Bonsall and went to school in Fallbrook. The weather here for the first two weeks in January was very similar to the U.K. Lots of rain!!! It’s back to 75* Fahrenheit. (hot)
