  • Great Illustrator Plugins – AlignCap & CapSize

    Hi Everyone,

It’s been a while since I’ve been on here. Hope everyone is doing well.

Found these plugins on Adobe Exchange and they work great. Perfect for people doing a lot of typesetting in scale.

    The AlignCap (free)
Aligns using the cap height and not the bounding box. Only downside is it will only align to the first line in the same text block.

    CapSize ( $12 / £9.84 )
Lets you specify the letter to use for exact cap height sizing, inches/millimeters/points, and can be set to an architectural/engineering scale. 3/8" = 1" and 3/16" = 1" are missing, but I’ve talked to the developer and he said he would eventually add those on his next update. Not as important to those working only in millimeters though.

I’ve just found these immensely useful and thought other sign makers using Illustrator could also find them helpful.

    Cheers,

    Simon

I’d love a plug in for Illustrator that puts drill/grommet marks on prints.

There was one for cs5, but cant remember which.

You could use the blend tool to create them, either set distance apart, or number of Mark’s.

    CTRL + I will spill check 😉
