I have a Graphtec CE500-120 and want to use it with Signlab 8 via USB.
I installed the driver using the "found new hardware" route and it shows up in SL8 OK and I can cut OK (HPGL mode with XP).
However, in plotter setup, when I select "plotter ID" or "get page size", although the "interrogating" icon is displayed, I get an error and no data is received. The plotter had driver v1.3 and I have since installed the latest driver V2 from the Graphtec site but still the same.
The graphtec plotting controller controls the cutter OK so it must be something to do with the Signlab settings.

Any ideas what this could be please?

Yes Peter, via the file install cutting device menu.
It shows up in the list of available cutters.

Peter is it connected direct to the PC or through a USB hub?

Peter, you have hit the nail on the head – select external dll works!

Thanks a million, you have spared me hours of frustration. :2thumbs:
