I notice that Graphtec have models 5000, 7000 and 8000
Can’t read much in the specs as to differences though

8000 just seems like the latest model but in what ways does it ascend over 7000?

    Anybody been able to compare?

    Hi John,

Without having looked, from memory, isn’t the 7000 a more heavy duty machine to the 5000? Dunno about the 8000 though…….

    I think the 8000 supersedes the 7000.

8000 also has ARMS (Advanced Registration Mark Sensing System)
600 Grams force, media to 1mm, Media Catch basket, Network connection.

Go on the Graphtec site and you can select cutters to compare.

Yes! I can see the increased grams for sandblast and prismatic vinyl
    Useful I suppose
Would the network work similar to several computers on site using one printer?

when i bought my fc7000 think it was worth the extra over the 5000.
the 8000 supersedes the 7000 and more gizmo’s but i wish the display was easyer to get round the menus.

with a network connection it is easy to have it connected to many computers. if the software SL etc will allow you to do it.

mine is accessed by 4 computers but by the windows print driver.

i have the 7000mk2, the menu system takes some getting used to.

i dont know what the difference is, but i can use Tangical emulation (somehow) and have some form of ARMS

I have the FC8000 I dont think there is much if any difference to the 7000
It can Die Cut/ Pounce which works pretty well if using it with Cutting Master you can control most of the main settings via cutting master on your PC/Mac rarther than altering via the cutter which is a nice feature, as Dave said the menus are pretty confusing at first
the ARMS system is wicked very accurate and easy to use and compared to my old print and cut printer I find ARMS much more accurate at contour cutting.

The eithernet connection is a optional extra as far as I know otherwise its just USB to 1 PC/Mac
