Can anyone recomend a supplier of good quality number plate blanks.
We have been making plates for ten years but the quality recently has gone right down hill.
Iam talking about the glue on the perspex being full of bits or blobs of glue. I am getting really P**** off.
Our customers expect good quality and we want to give it to them.
    Any help appreciated.

Me too. I have just brought the system from LG/OKI but that is a different method of production so wont help. Signam have been excellent.

How are you finding the Oki so far Peter. I’ve not long bought one myself. I’ve just spent the evening trying to figure out a way to print blue borders onto yellow plates. Apart from putting an exact replica of white vinyl behind it I’m stumped.

Hi Kenny just placed the order today at signuk!
The blue on yellow is a problem though. At the show they just suggested the white vinyl solution also. Bit tricky on a border though 😮
Sorry Martin stole the thread a bit 😳
Apart from the blue issue, it looks the part. I have a number of small retail clients who are interested in cheap window banners so looking forward to experimenting.
PM me if you solve the problem!

The most practical solution I can think ok is to have acetates with a border screen printed on in white which you can then print a blue over.

One other thing, at Sign UK, did they demonstrate the tax disc holders? I got some today and they are not what I was expecting. Pretty poor to be honest.

    ps Sorry Martin

have a look over automarque’s website (see front page of this website for advert and click on it).. run by Paul Morton who is a rare-poster here.. they do everything trade/retail in numberplates and might be able to help you.

    Hi all
all the plates & promotional stuff from Tennants LG & Automarque are the same things. Paul will tell you this, as did the Tennants rep at the show & i have always found Paul to be very helpful it does basically go down to service because the prices are the same as well.

Having been a number plate maker since 1988 I can tell you that time and time again I am always led back to two places, Bestplate (Blackpool) and Europlate (Birmingham)

Ian waterhouse, rep at Europlate can be contacted on 0121 559 5566

Tell him I set you and I might get a discount if I keep referring business his way.

He will do you such deals as selling you rear reflective on a roll instead of pre cut which works out about 30% cheaper.
