I was asked to produce some 8 x 4s for a new chip shop, he asked for crazy stuff. All cartoon characters and animals, a real pigs ear. Anyway I started looking for clipart etc and had a "brainwave", nipped into the local woolies and bought a couple of kids colouring books. Full of all sorts of kiddy type fun pics. They scan perfectly because of the thick outlines and worked a treat. I realise this is a bit of a cheat but is this ever used by you guys?

We have never done this as I believe there are all sorts of problems with copyright, most clipart used by sign companies is royalty free so there is no problems.
If we cant find what we want we draw it, scan & edit it. This way you know your customer has something unique.

    mickey the sign….
Hmmm a ficticious mouse who spends most of his time in a small shed in the country…..and every thursday evening turns into a swearing world champion……..seems a bit too close to the bone Rob……… He (alleged character of course) could get you on the copyright mate!
On a serious note – do a google search on online colouring books and trace them instead – works a treat.
