  • Golf Course Yardage Markers?

Posted by Marcella Ross on August 1, 2007 at 12:27 pm

Has anyone ever done anything like this? If so what size?
I have been asked to price signs for a hotel golf course, yardage markers for 50, 100, 150, 200, 250 yards.
Now the guy reckoned 10 x5ft signs?????? That seems excessive to me? Or is that standard?
Also what type of framework to position these on a green???? 😕

Marcella, yardage markers are usually coloured discs pinned to the fairway!About 200mm dia!

Or is it the actual hole details that the guy is after,ie

    Hole No.1
    Start Off
    Ordinary Tee XXXXX Yards
    Medal Tee XXXXX Yards etc.

sounds like a driving range Marcella if so the 250 200 150 yards are about right the closer ones seem excessive but he probably wants it uniform make sure you quote for something that will take a knock from a driven golf ball and the ball gathering tractor 🙂

well that’s what I thought! When he asked about them I said, ‘oh, right the small coloured markers that stick into the ground’. He said ‘No I was thinking of something 8 x 4 ft or bigger preferably with a large ’50’ on it and our web address running below it’. 😮

It’s for hotels with their own golf courses. Definitely a golf course as opposed to a driving range. 😕 Seems odd to me.
He asked for something they can ‘wheel out’ onto the fairways!!!!!!

No, it’s not a driving range………. as I mentioned it’s for golf courses. Definitely golf courses. It’s for a hotel chain.
