Hi all.. we have been producing signs now for over a year with just a graphtec cutter that belonged to the business when we bought it.. touch wood we have not had a problem at all.. superb piece of kit..

however we feel now that to progress any further and to stop farming out digital print work we are looking at a printer having looked closely at prices, cost effectiveness of printing etc we have landed at the JV33. and what better place to grab it than the sign show. we have what looks like a great show deal from a supplier for printer and cutter seeing as all prices are going up by atleast 2k next month we want to take advantage of this great offer…

we have had demos of it, found out what its capable of etc etc. but what we really wanted to find out was what people who actually have the machine thought of it?!?

so any advice.. thoughts.. likes dislikes of this machine would be great!!..

    Many Thanks Ben

The suppliers always tell you the price will be going up, but its not always the best price that gives best service,

The jv33 is probably as good as any in the price range,
but look at after sales service, to decide the better deal. Consider warranty etc,

as for getting the best deal at sign uk, it may not be the case,

    Hi Peter.

Yeah i guess they are always going to tell you it is going up.. but i can see the price increase being a real threat with the weakness of the £ against the yen etc.

the company in mention is signmaster, with hybrid being the supplier and as it happens they are literally 10minutes down the road which seems quite convenient…. also they are offering a full 2 year onsite warranty is this a standard for these kind of machines?

Have you used the mimaki at all pete or had any people that have got/used?

    Thanks

I’ve experienced very poor customer care from Signmaster, they don’t seem to be interested unless you’re giving them 4-5 figure somes of money and they have rip off prices for parts once you’re out of warranty

    £25 for a bloody damper!

Needless to say when it comes to replace our JV3 we’ll not be using them, however our Mimaki printer / cutter combo is fantastic, really easy to use and get the hang of, and seems to handle anything you throw at it.

We’ve also got a Graphtec and I prefer using the Mimaki always

Whilst we are not supposed to recommend suppliers etc, I have to disagree with you, we have bought all of our kit from the above mentioned company and have had fantastic service, many will know I am not one to lavish praise or tolerate poor service but the guys at signmaster are excellent and highly recommended as I expect are many other suppliers.

Have a chat to the boys there and I am sure you will feel at ease.

Ring Roland & you will pay exactly the same, Signmaster do not set the prices for either Roland or Mimaki spares they supply. I have only had good dealings with Signmaster

never had any issues with signmaster. In fact – they have been more than helpful on various occasions and far from ‘ripping me off’ I’ve always managed to get a fair deal from them and much aftersales advice including software, hardware and parts upgrades.
