About time I posted something I did here in the uncivilised corner of the Dak Continent :lol1:

This was a job I recently completed for a local Casino. The rest was run of the mill perspex signs and poster lightboxes etc.

Next up is a HUGE exterior fabricated sign. Built up Alu letters with halo illumination, similar to the interior version, just many times bigger, and with the "hotel and casino" bit also built up with halo illumination. Installed about (gulp) 50 metres above street level 😮

The signs were routed on a Tekcel 3 x 2m Router. On the signs with a backing board, I used 4mm DiBond, with 10mm perpex inlays to create 6mm of standoff for the halo / edge light to shine through. All the "Kalahari Sands" letters had mirror perspex faces.

On the fabricated alu letters I CNC cut the letter faces from 2mm Alu, and bent and TIG welded 1.2mm returns on them. Some sanding, body putty and paint, and then the perspex face overlays could be glued on.

I just love this kind of job !
