    Hi folk

I have recently bought a Gerber Edge and cutter and am slowly slowly working my way through the massive manual with it. I have a few areas where I am having problems but know that these will resolve with time and practice.

However something has just happened which has thrown me. I printed and did an outline cut with no problems – although I wasn’t delighted with the colouring – because of this I printed a different image using process colours rather than spot and was thrilled with the outcome.

I lined it up okay, sent it to the cutter and got an error message saying that I have a communications problem – to check cables etc. Everything is connected okay, I can move the blade around and align the registration mark etc – i don’t understand why this has suddenly happened.

I have rebooted the pc, switched off the cutter etc – is there something that I should alter or check in system devices ? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated 🙂

    Thanks, Saph

Not sure what has happened, but I have done something and it is working again 🙄

Will be interesting to see if it happens again. Obviously my computer settings I think.

Hi i have a gerber edge also and the only time i have had this problem was a cable issue so i’d say your fiddling with the plotter cable did the trick
