Apart the software that created it what would you guys n gals use to open plt files.

Tried the plt filter on Flexi and it sees the file but when you think you have imported it there is nothing there, had a go with Corel 11 with no luck either.

Thanks in advance for all help received.

If you want I can open it for you and save it as something else – eps or ai. Drop me a pm and I’ll sort it out for you 😀

Excuse my ignorance, but why would you need to open in anything other than it’s creator file????

If you need to open a .plt file in flexi(why?) use the save as command from Gerber and save as an .eps, .ai or whatever flexi can accomodate.

Because i can’t get ‘me stupid head around Omega ,i tend to do most designs in Flexi (easy distortion to pre defined shapes etc) and then export to eps or ai, (whichever i fancy)in the wireframe mode and then fill from within Omega and tweak if needed JD.

P.S I would like to be able to print from Flexi(driverss are there i know, but can’t get it to ‘talk’ to the Gerber………anybody??)

Darryl the reason behind the question is that a customer has sent me a plt file and I do not have any software that appears to open it.

Oh Nigel what software will you be using to open this file?

    Thanks

    aha !
    now i see !

Nigel would be using the Omega programme and then exporting for a guess. i believe from memory that he uses a Gerber.

Yes thats right Darryl – I would open in Omega and then export as eps or ai and make sure it imported into corel to check the dodgy gerber software has done its job 🙄

    Rob,

Fair enough I understand why this post was moved to this forum but it did start off I would have thought in the General Topic forum correctly as I was just asking a question regarding ways of opening a particular type of file and not directly after file swapping.

But why has my e-mail address been taken out?
