  • Genuine Trade suppliers of Roll up stands.

Posted by Ryan Fairweather on December 15, 2011 at 1:23 pm

I am looking at needing to order 300+ Roll up mechanism stands (Orient or similar) and am genuinely struggling to find the source, as it were.

I have enquired with several trade suppliers and the costs just put us way outside what my new client is used to paying to I need to try to find the importers ideally rather than the middle man.

    Any clues or ideas please?

    thanks

    Ryan

    I wouldn’t fancy importing myself.

There’s a few suggestions on the Toolbar.

A way I found of saving money and time was switching to a media that doesn’t require laminating.

Unfortunately the client stipulates lamination and when you start looking at clients who order quantities such as these..and more, the cost that they are willing to pay is negligible.

Most of the links on the toolbar are not what I would call full trade suppliers as they not only provide them but also print/manufacture them in house as well.

I am ideally looking at the start of the tree.

    Think I have found a possibility….maybe!

    😀

I have bought from these people before, don’t know how they compare price-wise now, but they were very reasonable.

Thanks Lorraine but it is the actual stand I need rather than the material.
    thank you

Have a try on alibaba.com, I’ve imported some bits and bobs using suppliers on there.

Thanks Andy, funnily enough that is the website I’ve just found.

    Thanks for the heads up.

your not really looking for a trade supplier then mate, your looking for a manufacturer to sell to you direct. as has been said, alibab.com is a quick bet, but still. you need to wait and get a sample because lets face it, you could be buying crap in. bit of a minefeild and not one ide like to get involved in when time is up against me. best of luck…

More of a long term plan really Rob depending on the commitment from the client. For the time being it is going to be a case of haggling with the UK vendors for best price.

How’s the printer? Still got it?

With quantities of 300 I would suspect some uk suppliers will be happy to negotiate with you.

I imagine the likes of UKPOS, who sell everything, won’t be as willing.

I got a box of really cheap stands in (about £9.00 each) whilst cheap wouldn’t stand up straight using the media I use. I pay a little more, but get a much better product.

Ryan, it was the stands I bought, they just don’t show them on the website.

Like Robert has already said trying to set something like this up with a manufacturer can be a real minefield especially if you are dealing with companies in different countries. 300 will be a very small quantity as far as a manufacturer is concerned.

If I was looking to try and set something like that up I think I would want to go out there, have a look around the manufacturing plants and speak to various manufacturers before I was prepared to lay out any cash and even then I wouldn’t really be happy until the container had arrived and I had inspected the contents :lol1: :lol1:

Sure it can & has been done very successfully by some people but not sure I have the skills required to pull something like that off & don’t have the bank balance to try.

ahh i see, well yeh, buying in large volumes is probably the way to go.
around 6 or 7 years ago i used to be inundated with chinese firms asking me to sell roll-up stands and the like via the boards. i never took them up on it but there was one or two that had some great deals and some very innovative products that ive yet to see in the uk. shame i didnt keep the contacts or you would have been welcome to them.

we dont sell a great deal of exhibition type products but even today, when you can get roll-up stands for around £12 complete with bag it would really need to be large volume for me to venture over seas for supplies.
easystands.com have always given me decent prices and products, but i know there are a great many do similar. have you looked at YaunYaun about a volume purchase?

as for the printer, nop, no longer have it mate. had to put a bullit behind its ear and bury it at sea. :lol1: it was a brilliant machine "when it worked". 😕
