Sorry if this has been covered before as i suspect others have probably brought this up before.

I know there are loads of variables in ink usage, but as a general rule, how many square metres of vinyl would you expect to print using a full set of cartridges, before having to replace them?

As an example, our machine is the Roland SP540v, max inks etc, we mostly use 1370mm white vinyl for printing. Can i expect to print a 100 metre roll of vinyl before running out? or maybe half of that is more realistic?

I think my ink usage may not be running in tandem with what i’ve been told, so it would be nice to have ‘a good idea’ of how much print i should get through with 220ml carts.

I’m guessing most printers of this type of range should be similar-ish?

    Thanks

12-15 ml per sq meter on average , 18ml if full coverage dark print , 25+ ml for a double print. all colours combined. On a worst case scenario , 20ml per sq meter = 50 sq meters per litre.
Carts should be round 40 quid each or round 200 per sq meter , ie ink cost at WORST about 4 quid a sq meter or 40 pence a sq ft , generally works out better than that tho.

    Cheers Rodney,

by my reckoning i should get at least 60 linear metres off my 1370 rolls then. That’s pretty much the way the figures are looking anyway.
