    Hey guys,

Been registered for a little while. Mainly reading. Signed up for a membership today so figured I’d say hello.

I’m from Melbourne Australia currently doing signage. Just purchased a Roland VersaCamm 540V. Been using traditional vinyl lettering etc for signage but entering the digital phase now.

    Cheers
    Jason

Hey shane photo uploaded. Yeh I am a tad younger 😛

Hey Jill yes traditional 😀 I come from a web design background and then got into print due to the fact one of the places I worked at offered print and video as well as web. It wasn’t my area but I picked up a lot of things working there. So the digital side of things is what I’m more used to hehe.

    Cheers

Hey Jason, Jill is a traditional hand painter, of the highest grade. I think her comment was slightly sarcastic, yet done with her tongue planted firmly in her cheek.

Not only a lovely lady, but like a lot here, has talent that most would die for.

    Cheers again 😛

    Gday all,

I will introduce myself as well. I am Jason’s partner/younger brother.

Don’t have a big background in sign writing, just the odd jobs we did with our old cutter.

I’m sure I will gain heaps of experience in the future and be more useful then, till then I will be one of the guys asking all those dumb questions 😛

    Cheers

    Hi Jamie,

I really have to change my friends I think. :lol1: Dave’s starting to sound like my wife, and one wife is enough, although I’ve been told Dave looks pretty hot 😮 in a dress 😉

Cricket Dave… remember 5 – 0 in the Ashes. Your lot got knighted by the queen when they won in ’05, our lot won this time and got a watch. 🙄 No justice in that. Still having the convicts beat the old dart is worth huge boasting rights :lol1:

Lets not even talk about the one day team :lol1:

Shane not sure how I ask you a question directly so I’ll ask it here. Do you know of any supplier in Australia who does letter cutting? I’ve tried a lot of CNC places but they don’t really want to know about it.

    Cheers

I believe Australian Graphics Supplies are setting up a factory now mate, to cut dibond type materials. I’ll be seeing the rep next week, so I’ll ask.

I use and suggest the Accurate Group in Stafford here in Qld. Ultra professional, and the have two shifts working every day. They supply Coca Cola as a major client Australia wide, and I know they do heaps of work for interstate companies, I’ll get you the details if you wish. Talk to Michael Taylor, the operations manager… one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet 😉

Another company I use for interstate work is Motif Signs in Sydney. Ask for the owner, steve, he has a cnc rounter and also does 3d metal letters with a new fangled computerised machine. Can reproduce any vector file you throw at him.

Let me know if you need the info.

YES, England just need a shorter time outside…. i kinda like this 1day stuff

So how different is the aus team members since the 5-0

Its about flamin’ time they found some form!!

I reckon it was a ploy to bore the Aussies senseless, than go for the kill late in the series. Seems to have worked.

I’m pleased for Freddy Flintsone though, poor bloke must have been getting sick of always on the losing side. Good example of ‘hanging in there’ I’ve seen.

Good on ’em though. Certainly a couple of entertaining games worth watching. Pity we had to sit through all those boring games first though.

(my wife says to me last night – ‘you look like you’ve seen a ghost’… Almost I said.. got to face the 2 Daves tomorrow on the boards 😕 … perhaps they didn’t watch it she said… yeah, like that will happen… ) 😕

:lol1: I don’t think anyone in Australia seriously thought (or cared) that we would win this one. Not one of those trophys that means a lot to us here…. means a lot to the Kiwi’s tho. Must confess I didn’t even turn the telly on to watch it.

no gilchrist + no lee + no ponting + no symons + no clarke = not a chance 😕 😛

I made a prediction during the ashes that we’d be struggling by the time the world cup came around. I still think I’m right.

We’ve lost or are losing some of our best players and JB our coach after the cup, so I think our dominance in the sport will be history soon 😕

Not a bad thing either mind you.

I am please freddy got a result too Dave. I would have been disappointed if Vaughan had of been at the helm when they won, as he would have got the credit. Freddy Flintstone did the hard yards when they were woeful in the field, he deserved the glory that went with the win.

You’ve got to question how seriously the australian team wanted the win against NZ, resting the key players 🙁 I think they sacrificed the game to give some inexperienced players some ball time ahead of the cup. As I say, not an important trophy in the eyes of the aussie cricket fans.
