  • Gap between cab and deck of pickup truck

    Hi
I have just completed the second of three pickup trucks I with full wraps – they started off silver, I am wrapping them white and then putting a picture from the back door to the back end.
I am having enormous difficulty getting the material into the space between the cab and the deck, where there is an approx. 40mm space. It is not big enough to get your hand in to pull the material flat, and when I finally get it a few centimeters down there, trimming it neatly is ridiculously difficult.
How do other people deal with this space? Are there any tricks?
    Thank you.
    Simon.

If you look under the "TUB " there is usually only 4-6 bolts holding it in place, Remove the Nuts and the tub will lift back about 4-6 inches without much hassle, you don’t need to disconnect lights fuel pipes etc , it just gives you that wee bit extra room needed to do a good job

hi simon,i agree with ian. just be carefull you might need to release the wiring loom from its mounts on the chassis to allow for the movement backwards as the lights are attached to the tub, also the fuel filler pipe is probley made from solid plastic so you might need to disconnect it.looking at your picture the tub wont go very far back before the tub hits the wheel but it should be enough to make life easier. 😀
