Another very nice job Jason, well done mate.

This sort of thing is what i do most of… i know a great many look on these as "just hanging wallpaper".
maybe it is, but wallpaper is narrow strips not 52inches wide and in some cases over 10ft tall, you can also lift and lay and lift and lay till in place. do this dry and that’s not the case!
also, alignment being out a few millimeters on one panel will be out inches several panels along.
further more, spoil a panel and have to re-print it, you most likely get batch differences which stand out like a sore thumb on a truck that size. so not all plain sailing.

anyway, i know you will know all this fine well, just that i know some folk look and think, easy, its all flat. 😉 :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:

as always, thanks for taking the time to post your work jason. much appreciated mate.

no worries mate, and as you say, it looks easy enough, but not the case! Alignment is always the key! as you said, 3mm out one end equals a complete nightmare at the other!!!

Will one printer be enough to print that many vehicles? And what are you doing for lamination?

depending on time scale and setup, one printer will do it.

our AJ will spit out a full artic truck wrap in a matter of hours.
if its a short term job and no lamination required then trimming and finishing in same day too.

meanwhile on site, two men will fit a full truck in about 5 hours.

thats 5 – 7 artics per week. as i said, depends on how quick the customer needs the fleet done, but you could easily double that out-put up by adding a few men.

that said, i am not clued up on the speed of the HP in comparison to the AJ.

As Rob has said those timescales are about right, the HP is set to about 6sqm per hour, could go faster but all vector based artwork requires minimal banding!

this is a permanent rebrand for the company so all print is laminated, no out gassing required as they are latex inks which is a big bonus!

Nice Jason, personally I wouldn’t know where to start with a job like that and would end up having to pass it on to someone else.
I am guessing that all the knowledge and contacts you have built up from your past experiences has put you in a position to be able to take work like this on. It’s not a one man job to start with is it if you have to have 100 completed in the first quarter of the year.

    Hi Jason,

We have had an enquiry for a number of trailers to be branded but not having had much experience I am a little uneasy about how to price up.

We wrap cars and vans all day long but nothing of this size and on this quantity. I am basing on a 5yr with lam, 2.5m drops x 22… which is all fine but just wonder do you price these p/sqm or look at it that you can rattle one trailer out a day with a team of two which means you want X price?

I’m not after costs just interested to see how other people price up 🙂

    Cheers
