Some of you may have noticed the obscure picture of Lee I posted.
I was googling old British rock stars and came across these pictures.
    They are eerily familiar!

I’d have done Nik, but with the winky Avatar, I just couldn’t steal her.
    I think she’d make a great Siouxsie.
Had to resort to B&W because of different skin tones.
It’s been a long day obviously!

Just incase you can’t afford to fly over for the next panel jam, I’ve found this useful bit of kit.

Make your own Panel Jam Party and pretend you’re on Mars!

Just print out the whole image, cut around the individual component images and enjoy your very own private panel jam for hours! Batteries not included 😀

    Cheers, Dewi

Damn, Dewi, I WISH I had a body like that!
    Good idea.
I also realized after the fact that Peter, Paul, and Mary AREN’T British.
Here is a picture of me and Stevo to play with.
And one of me and my scottish friend in Mars.
I was probably telling her to find me a beer.
    (I hope they’re sized!)

Signs OF the Times? 😕 I’ve heard that name somewhere before 😉

I’m still puzzling over the graphic that Stevo did, spent quite a while now just playing with different ideas, but I can’t recreate even half of it. He’s certainly a Corel God! 😀

This is the site for Signs of the Times magazine, an American trade publication.
They will celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2006!
They are great friends to the Letterheads, and they helped foot the bill
    for the Mars meet T-Shirts.

Lucky I used a For instead an Of then, they’d have sued my butt off! 😮

What is it like as a magazine? Useful or?

    It’s OK.
My favorite is the May Ugly Sign Contest.
They cover Letterhead meets pretty well too.
I also subscribe to SignCraft & Sign Business,
and my fave is A Magazine About Letterheads.

Nice one, thank you Stevo 😀 Its just me playing around trying to learn new techniques, but there’s a couple of bits that are puzzling, I was trying to make a panel that said ‘Apricot Jam’, a sort of satirical take on your panel, mainly to see whether I was capable of coming even close to producing something like that. (the answer was obviously that I’m not 🙁 )

Anyway, I’ll pop my snag points in an email. I’m probably trying to do something that takes years to learn in five minutes, so I’ll prepare myself for short sharp shock treatment 😉 😉

Okay, so a Stevo Design its not, but I asked some advice from Stevo earlier today and I’ve been practising some of the techniques he used to produce the Panel Jam graphic for an up and coming event.

Be gentle Stevo, this took me 2 hours to do! 😮 🙄 😳

    Cheers, Dewi

    Not too shabby, Dewi!
    You’re a fast learner.
    Tricky, isn’t it?
He makes it looks so easy too.
I think you should have gone with
    a Mint Jelly….supposedly good
    with Lambies.

Thank you 😀 The main thing I was concentrating on (the bit I asked the advice on as well) was the central text ‘ Apricot Jam ‘, I thought if I started in a small area and worked my way out it may make it easier, but as you say, its bloody hard work! 😕

Still, really enjoying learning some new skills in Corel, and Stevo is really good at breaking down the process, making it very easy to follow how he achieved the effect. I think I may need a little more practise on the central lettering before I progress much further though 😀

I’m still a little puzzled on where to put the highlights, but I’ve grasped the infill but I think 😀 Highlight wise I tried thinking of which way the light would hit the letters, but if you’d seen my first attempt at adding the highlights, it looked like I’d attacked the letters with several strips of LEDs and a spraygun with a blocked nozzle :lol1:

Thank you again for your help though Stevo, its great to be able to learn a new technique and you really did explain it well. If you decide to run a CorelDRAW course ever, I’ll be over in a shot! (providing they’ll let me out of the country that is 😉 ) 😀
