In the New Year Ford will take a decision on investment for the new model Transit Van and it looks like production will cease in the UK and be switched to Turkey…….really quite sad….Ford Transit, the backbone of Britain?

    More manufacturing jobs lost………….. 👿

Very sad indeed – another blow to manufacturing in this country.

Over successive years and through several government this country’s manufacturing base has been diminished. Personally, I find it quite concerning.

We’ve moved so much in the direction of ‘invisible earning’ in The City, banking & insurance etc etc. We all know where the chiefs of this sector have led us.

I won’t elaborate on what I think of them as I don’t wish to be banned from the forum.

Would that include all those who run Trafics, HiAces, etc etc? 😀

Not a big fan of the Transit. Sad about the jobs though.

My wife works for a building supply company. They put 50 people off yesterday. My wife is head of payroll. She had a busy day doing termination pays.

The other downside, with less people to pay, her assistant is in the frame to lose her job too.

Not much good news out there is you have not been in a job long I guess.

Last employed, first to go usually….
