    Evening all

I have to produce some battenberg graphics for a Ford Connect 21 plate. I have been applying graphics for this customer for quite sometime starting with a Ford Custom to 4 or 5 Citroen Berlingo’s but it takes me ages to complete.

I’ve currently been applying the graphics and then using cutting tape which has worked but the vans seem to be getting more complicated with all their creases and the reflective black is the worst material I have ever used (It sticks like **** and there is not one ounce of flexibility). I now want to change my approach.

Alternatives from what I can see:

    • Give up

    • Complete the job as normal no matter how long it takes using cutting tape

    • Buy a kit in which best matches my design

    • Buy a kit in and use that to create my own template

    • Make a digital template (not sure where to start with this)

    • Find a reflective cast material that matches the black and hi vis yellow which would make it a lot easier to apply

Maybe I have been over thinking this but I can’t see a way out. Perhaps I should just leave it tonight and have a sleep on it as i’ve got plenty of time to complete it.

i would suggest buying them in as a kit. it is much quicker and less hassle mate.
william smith do kits for most vehicles.

You’re right, so much easier. Found a kit so hopefully that should solve my problem.

we create our own templates and they are anything but easy to create unless you have a handheld 3d scanner. I looked into these about 6 years ago and to buy the one i think was the best for what we required, cost around £15,000. However, there are also companies that will hire you one for a few days at a time. I never bothered as we already had a decent way to create templates and seldom come across one that’s over-complicated.
we have grown our list of templates over the years and would be lost without them.

as has been said, William smith do a good range of templates and you only pay for the reflective that you need. by that i mean, your not buying in reflective and fluorescent and then trying to create your own.
