  • Font suggestion for french style patisserie

Posted by Warren Beard on May 14, 2012 at 4:53 pm

got a client wanting a re-brand and they’ve asked me to chose a font, I’m tired of all the same old same old fonts used, anybody recommend something nice that is suitable for a french style patisserie that I can buy?

    cheers

When i am stuck for inspiration, a good way to get ideas is to google that type of business but add shop, then click "images" you will get lots of irrelevant stuff, but many good examples of how others have done their shop fronts.

For instance, google image search " french patisserie shop "

Scroll down the list and keep hitting [more images at the bottom]

I dont think there is necessarily "a font" thats best suited, traditional or modern type fonts, scrolls etc… all come into play with the type of design / style / theme of the shop you are trying to portray.

maybe even post up a design as a starting point to let others have a go at if they feel they can help?

    best of luck mate…

There’s two different one on http://www.myfonts.com/search/croissant/fonts/
I knew of the second one, but the first one is quite nice.

On a more serious note, Rob’s note about searching on google is spot on, and you can also try searching directly in French, for example on google images try "enseignes boulangerie patisserie" which will give you a more accurate geographical search

Nice one George, that does narrow things down considerably.

Only trouble "i have" is i struggle with my English, never mind French. 😉 :lol1:

A modern treatment of an old style might suit maybe?

    awesome thanks guys.

Rob that’s what I usually do but the real reason for me asking was so I could get other peoples ideas of what a nice font is and there are some great ones posted I would never have seen or known about.

    Thanks again guys

    Cheers
