I’m Not familiar with VMP, but when i import certain files, i get these lines, and also from certain eps files.
One thing to do is to save the originall file as an older version, then to import.
sometimes you can just weld all of the lines in your cutting program, or manually delete them.
Dave Roland mentioned in another thread about something being checked or a certain way of saving eps files.. i think it had to do with eps ai or eps pdf… can’t remember what exactly…

sorry i’m not much more help…
maybe you can give us info on what type the original file was?? someone on here has to have vmp and ran into this….

Don’t you have to turn off wireframe?
Check out the help files on wire frames, that may help (pardon the pun)

Hi I dont know VMP, but it looks like the linestyle may be set as a thick line rather than none or a hairline. as steve has said though, try welding aswell

By the way, would you like to tell us a bit more about yourself, we are a friendly bunch here,

    Hi

Im Russ(not jim as name suggests thats my dad) im 19 i have just set up with a small cutter and im hoping to make money to support my hobbie as a motorcycle road racer

Thanks for your help i solved the problem by re-writing all the text in the correct font and then using the effects tool put a 3mil out line around the edge. But theres a more serious problem just come in to light,

To cut this image i need to do it in 2 strips, ive put the image in to the cutting tool and set the size of each strip then VinylMaster automaticly brings up 2 strips but when i send it to cut it rotates my image 90degrees i had a similar problem when i was using the AUTO cut method and i some how stoped it from auto rotating but i cant find in the help files anything about stopping it in the cut file. can anybody help me with this?

Hi, its Jim this time, I tell the truth LOL.

Because Russell Races bikes its difficult for him to have a job that will allow him to have most weekends off and sometimes he needs a early finish Thursday to travel to circuits for Friday practice. So the Wife and I decided to buy him the kit to run a business from home and one we could use and benefit from e.g. Race truck , Bike sponsors etc.
We only purchased a Roland 900 with a 305mm and a laptop, that way he could we hope sell stuff at track side, while at the same time build the business up from home. He’s only been at it 2 weeks and at least it keeping him out of the pub and he starting to make a bit of money.
It is his business and not for pocket money or doing it for fun, We have as I see it given him a real chance at running a good business but like every thing it doesn’t come easy, hes up until all hours trying to work things out.
Thanks very much for your help gentlemen, one last question please, would he benefit from paying for silver gold or what ever membership ?
    Best Regards

    Hi Jim,
From my own experience, if he’s serious about learning, I would say YES purchase the gold membership. In my opinion it is too little money for what you recieve. The tips and tricks forum alone is worth many times that to someone lacking experience if utilized correctly.
Also, just being a member here has incredible benefits.
I had No One to go to for advice for a few years… had to figure things out on my own.
This places has a great bunch of people that will help a great deal!
It will take long hours of learning even with the benifit to this site, so tell him stick with it. Like anything, the more he puts into it, the more he’ll get out of it.

Just my opinion about the value of this site, but i’m sure not many would disagree.

Oh, and it’s cool that he races bikes!!
I race too, but not on asphalt.. dirt only! there’s something about being on old guy and clearing a 75 foot gap!
The guys on asphalt.. well they’re just Nuts! Too fast and too hard of a landing when you go down.

When you send the image you want to cut to you cut spooler, sometimes it will auto turn your image 90 degrees, what its trying to do is get your image to fit the vinyl the best way it can, However you can turn it around if you want to just by clicking on the image and using the rotate tool ( 4th icon down from the top left under the magnifying glass) you can position your image anywhere you want it, again just highlight it and drag it around.
The reason it shows 2 strips in the cutting spooler is because you have 2 colours so 1 strip for 1 colour and the other strip for the other colour, if they are both the same colour ie: black, again you can just drag it from the bottom tile (vinyl strip) and put it wherever you want on the other strip you will notice the empty strip (tile) will dissapear and you will be left with just the 1 strip of vinyl with all you images on it.
VMP has a very good help file and video help and is deffo worth watching them as well as doing what it shows you at the same time.
    Have fun 😛
