Font help again..
Posted by Brian Hays on February 21, 2006 at 12:41 pmAnybody recognise this one? I damaged a hire van recently, went through the Blackwall Tunnel in a van that was too high. Doh 😳 😳
Anyway need to replace a sticker on the roof of a Luton Van.

Snell Black BT is close Brian.
But it all depends on what the original signwriter done with software manipulation.
If it was me, i`d remove the entire decal and replace with something you`ve created to 95% + accuracy instead of trying to patch or match.
Snell Black BT with a small outline to beef it up a bit should do it.
Outline again and drop shadow.

Cheers for looking guys, it has to be spot on though as he has loads of vans.
It cost me £600 in damage to the van, told him I would get him the stickers. If I can’t find it will have to pay their Sign guy. Think he wants £80-£100 for one about 5′ x 10″ though 😮

That’s mad we do a full tractor and trailer for that kind of money 😀 😀 😀

looks like it has been hand digitised, the bottom of the i’s are differnt and the scroll on the s where it joins the preceding letter are also differnt on each s.
Get a good photograph and digitise of that, only take 30-40 minutes tops.

Fit a height sticker in the middle of the windscreen for next time you hire it 😀

Ireland not a good place to be a Sign Maker then Russ?
Maybe your right Tim & i’ll have to vectorise it.
Don’t think he will let me hire it again Dave, cheers for the tip though :lol1:

Can’t be much on your tractors then Russ (?)
Have vectorised it myself now, hopefully it will still look ok when it’s blown up. All the letters are different, even the 2 captital M’s. Must have been created from a Sign Written van or something?

I took your pic into photo shop took the magic wand with a setting of 80 and was able to separate the red as one layer and the black as another. the edges were raggy due to the fact it was a 72 dpi. I am sure with a really good picture @ 350/400 dpi would work well for you
Good luck mate GAry
