Hi all hope everyone is keeping safe and well. Ive had an enquiry in for floor decals. This is not something ive used before so having contacted my supplier and ive been offered a media called Floor Shark. This I believe will not need laminating and as im on my own now as everyone else is furloughed it seems ideal. Has anyone used this materiel? also will be using a px 43mt of a 50mt roll for the job which is 200 circular prints apx 380mm diameter. Im not sure where to start with pricing. I did google online to see what other sites are charging and its anywhere from £3.50 each to up to £30-£40 each! I don’t want to loose the job as im literally sitting on my hands but don’t want to charge lower end and loose out on much needed income. thanks for reading

More difficult in times like these.
I’ve been sticking to my guns with pricing.. actually putting a wee bit more on and it’s working fine so far. Not that am rushing about with work. Just finished a van that is probably slightly more than normal.

Yesterday I quoted for some acrylic at £370, to be told the other company had quoted at 24k. Shocked i said I must of missed something or read it wrong. Few phone calls, other supplier sticking to there guns that it was 5 tonnes worth of acrylic. Turns out they read it at 1,860 meters instead of 1860mm in various amounts. But man did I wish I upped the price more. Acrylics on it’s way [emoji23][emoji23]

For something like this, where it’s multiple units of a single design, I would take the materials cost, add a mark up on the materials, then estimate the time spent producing them and multiply that by your hourly rate. Add it all together and you have your selling price.

Hi Jean, I’ve not actually used the floorshark but have a sample of the wallshark (actually exactly the same product just rebranded for wall use) I’ve not printed on it yet but I have used a few other media from Kernow Coatings & they tend to be very good & high end products so I can’t imagine you’d have any issues with it.
