  • Flexisign – Converting image to vector. Help please.

Is there a way using Flexi that I can convert an image to a vector. Despite requesting it clients often send us images that aren’t in outline. I’ve also just been bought Photoshop to help resolve this problem but have yet to learn how to use it so any signposting to tutorials would be really helpful. Many thanks.

Yes you need to vectorise the bitmap image.

Many thanks. I can vectorise if a black and white image – although rarely fantastically well. Shall keep at it!

What you need to do is find a few more hours in the day lol, auto tracing or vectorising often doesn’t give the sort of result that you need, it is really best if you can learn to use the drawing tools & the node editing tools.
There are things you can do to an image before vectorising it, reduce the number of colours, posterise it, play with the colour & contrast settings, bit of a steep learning curve unfortunately.
