    Hi Everybody.
    Hope you all doing well.
I run into a problem. Much appreciated if anyone could shed a light on it.
My job was printed on 3M reflective Plus and contour cut for vehicle. Artwork is 20" x 125".
Printed on JV3-160SP Mimaki and contour cut with Graphtec FC7000.
My print has 4 crop marks that contain the artwork. Graphtec uncessfully read crop marks and never cut.
Vinyl placed coreclty on plotter . Graphtec could only read 2 registration marks and stopped. What I noticed was that Graphtec never reached to the second registration mark. It scanned about 1/2" before the second one and returned to the origin and display error. This is my first contour cut job. Any idea and suggestion is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Hi
not sure about your Graphtec but Summa requires reg marks no further that 800mm (approx 32”) apart on its length so would require more marks. This sounds like your problem its going to its maximum distance & searching for its marks, but can’t find them.

    Hope this helps

    Hi Guys

I take it that the machine you are cutting with is fitted with opus

If this is the case that you should recalculate the opus on the material you are using as the fact that you are using reflective may be your problem.

I am not aware of the spec for your machine but we use a summa t 1400 and as Fred said some times you need a centre mark om the model we have this is if the artwork is longer than 1400 mm.

go to the summa web site and thier are manuals you can download.

Also thier is a basic package of winplot that will cut using opus for free

    for the fc7000

    measure the distance between marks
    load material
    go arms
    auto reg marks
    mark scan mode
    next
    enter the distance values
    enter
place knife just inside first mark
    arms auto find
    enter

this will find the marks very quickly
when its found them it will ask you to confirn the distance if with in .5 mm enter

    send cut path
if you have multiple sheets this is a god send.

    sorry quick reply

    Hi Group,
I haven’t tried any of your suggestion yet to contour cut the printed vinyl.
Just stopped by the company today and measured the prints.
They are all printed about 1/2" longer than supposed to. That’s perhap
why Graphtec scanned 1/2" before the second mark.
    Will post again.
    Cheer,

    Cheer,

Software used is Flexisign 7.6 – Media comp set at printer @ 70 – print came out OK without any noticable banding. If it is always the case with Mimaki that outputs print longer than its original sign then Flexisign would recognize this problem and should compensates on way or another to assure the correct the cutting on different device.

    Cheer,
