…best avoided if you want to maintain a reputation for good designs!!!

A top restaurant wouldn’t allow the customers to scribble down an idea for a dish or a tailor agreeing to, "three arms is an excellent idea sir’.

YOU design, YOU manufacture THEY pay.

Without PERSONAL contact, even email or phone, the interaction is lost and so customer loyalty never be fostered.

Stick to a ‘contact us’ form with type & size and email or call.

…if you are planning on only selling one range of products – fine, but on a whole…stay personal…YOU know what they need, not what they want!!

This would grow arms and legs then be out of control before you know it.
Why don’t you contact a coder with your idea and see what they think, you could design it, then pay and have them code it.

If you are feeling adventurous, start looking at "Drag and Drop" tutorials, dynamic text fields, how to use movieclips, php and xml coding etc…

You would get more out of getting your punter to fax you what they think they need, then produce a visual for discussion.

    Only my opinion mate.

Flash is very good, but slow…

I do a LOT of web design, and I use SWISH for flash development. All the flash capabilities, but 10x faster!

Its a damn site cheaper than flash too! Plus if you need any help with it ,I can always give you a few pointers.

    For Flash work
Peter Mindham usually uses a long plastic mac and a bus shelter

just out of interest what do you want as the end result? a flash file, jpeg?

you may find that php and imagemagic will provide better results….

business wise, what do you wish to accomplish from the site?

A guy in Australia pioneered this sort of thing years ago, before digital prints.

As Dave said, full of problems.,

The end user usually designed something that was ‘full on’ but was then surprised about the end price. I think he scrapped it after a few months of always arguing with prospective clients about the price, or difficulty level.

Then he decided to franchise the idea out to sign shops like me, but his monthly fee was outrageous. He tried to recoup his R&D within a few months.

It was one of those great ideas, that in real terms made more problems than it solved. 😕

Hi There for the suggestions. It would probably be easier to buy an interface however the price is still extortionate. Thanks again.
