Had an enquiry for the following:

6 x flagpoles 90mm diameter and 10m length. Just the pole as they have a ground fixing already.

They are also after 6 flags to go with these.

Also a price for a complete set of drive on flag poles with flags.

I am thinking of subbing this out – but cannot find a supplier who really fits the bill.

    Any tips welcome.

Spoke to them yesterday. They only do feather type drive on flag poles. Rather than rectangular flags if that makes sense?

I think they’re wanting the flag poles with the cross bar from the top.

I think the name your after is Rotating Flag Arm type flag pole, Bannerbox used to sell the them at one time, i believe you just buy the rotating part to attach to a std 60mm alloy flag pole.

Strange they did not tell you about other options, as I can see they have got photos of various pole attachments on the web. But then, just yesterday I spoke to the possibly most unenthusiastic, sleepy, deflated and uninterested rep on the phone as well. It made want to top myself! 🙂 I won’t name the company, but they are brilliant at all (other) times, so it really depends who you speak to. Sometimes I hang up and redial until I get someone switched on, but not always have time for this sort of games!

They stopped the rotating arm drive on’s as they were telescopic and apparantly they weren’t very good. Lasted about 6months and broke so they stopped. Their only other drive on was a feather style?

You surprise me there… I worked until recently for one of the few companies left in the UK that still made silk screen printed flags before they shut down, most of the flag mounting hardware they supplied was brought in from JMS flagpoles before Bannerbox bought them up and I never known any of those rotating flag arms to break, even the ones supplied by Bannerbox.

Try here for rotating flag arms..

It wasn’t the rotating arm that was the issue it was the telescopic parts that failed. They kept slipping back down so they dropped the range.

I will check that link first thing monday when I’m back in the office.

    Thanks for the links.

I am still awaiting a quote back from Harrisons 😕

Flying Colours seemed a little expensive, as they’re looking for 6 of these, and at over £200 each, without the flags can’t imagine there been much profit in it.

I am not sure what these usually retail for to start with?

Harrisons come back with a much better price with the flags!

Will be sending a quote tomorrow and hope I get the job!
