    Hi,

I need to find a supplier of fixings. Don’t know how best to describe this, but basically I need to fit a dibond sign between to uprights of a tubular handrail, approx 40mm dia, so I am imagining something that will clamp to the uprights with tabs drilled to screw through the aluminium. hope this makes sense to someone!

Jim try Ashby as they do different sorts of fixings.

Have you thought about putting a run or two of channel on the back of the di-bond, this would give it a bit more strength and you could also probably use "D" clips or normal post clips to secure it.

    Hi Martin,

A couple of runs of channel might be a good idea, although the sign is not particularly big. Had a quick look on Ashbys web site yesterday but didn,t see anything suitable there. Might just phone them and ask. Any alternatives would be great.

    Thanks all,

    Jim

Jim your local builders merchant is probably as good as anyone else for this sort of thing, mine have a pretty good selection of fixings, brackets, clamps etc…etc….

Failing that pop into your local steel supplier buy a bit of one inch flat bar and fabricate a couple yourself, bit of heat and a pipe to bend it round won’t take long at all.

P.S. Remember to wear gloves as when it is hot it is hard to put down with your fingers stuck to it !!!!!!
