Today we complete another lorry for a client. The back doors get a full digital print. However the paint job for said back door was cover in 1000’s of little specs, almost like little metal filings. Not a easy fix for the customer. (Perhaps something we should of noticed before fitting but you can’t see, but you can feel it). Of course gloss vinyl just magnifies the problem in certain lights.

I gave the customer the option on weather we fit, or he gets it sorted out then we fit. I pushed for the second of the two but we fitted the graphics today. It’s look Horrendous. Might of had a smoother finish on sand paper.

On the other hand the customer is a good customer, understanding of the situation, a good payer and he has already paid for the lorry.

But if it was me walking past that van after one of you guys had fitted it my mouth would hit the floor with aww as to how much grit you had managed to get in it and how on earth did the customer accept that.

Just to Keen what others would do. Am I to soft and should put the foot down, or at the end of the day the clients happy and were paid.

Hi Chris, I would wait for a week before you make the decision, my guess is it will settle in quite a bit better than it looks at present. If it still keeps you awake at night & doesn’t look any smoother, possibly a textured laminate over the print to disguise the surface irregularities?
