Fitting signs during this 2nd lockdown, advice please?
Morning all.
I have a feeling that most people are continuing to work during this 2nd Lockdown, in England, but do we know where we stand on installations if it requires 2 people? The two people are from the same family, me and my brother, we are in the shop together each day.
Would it be a breech of the lockdown rules as we would not be able to social distance on the tower to remove and fit the new pan tray. The rules say we should work from home where possible which I can do for certain elements of our profession but obviously when i comes to installation we can’t do so.
The shop is a fruit and veg shop so is open anyway as it is an essential business.
I just wonder even if we are allowed if the public saw us it may be detrimental to the company name.

You must continue to operate to help your business survive and all that anyone can expect you to do is perform best practice measures while working. If it concerns you, go over the top a bit and any onlookers will be more conscious of what you “are doing, than what you are not”.
Think of it as you looking on as a passer-by in the street.

The area being worked on has small hi-viz cones scattered around the area, again, black text, “men at work, keep a safe distance”
You could even have some striped tape between cones to keep people clear.Over-kill? Yes, I would say so, but as you said yourself. it’s better to be clearly seen performing safe practice measures than not. It will also install some reassurance of professionalism for your customer.
Although I’m showing some in yellow and not fluorescent, you can easily make them all hi-viz yellow, keeping it all uniformed and clearly be seen to make a statement on safety.
the masks, viz-vest and cones cost only a couple of pounds each. cheap, easy to personalise with your vinyl cutter. even if you don’t have a heat press. get the t-shirt vinyl from grafityp or MDP and cut it, apply with an iron.
