I was looking at GrafiCast from Grafityp simply because I have an account there, what are peoples opinions?

Paul, what material were you working with on the Rolland course? As this is your first wrap and you will probably be doing it on your own you might be better off sticking with a madia you have already got some experience with.

    Martin,

we were using printed MD7 but im just wanting a solid black colour change and I was under the impression MD7 was a white print media.

    Hi Paul,

While you’ll be able to wrap in a plain cast vinyl most are very thin with an aggressive adhesive. You might want to try some of the new bubble free solid colour, dedicated wrap films available from the likes of Hexis, APA and Oracal. . they tend to be thicker, and have small channels in the adhesive to aid application.
I have used the older solid colour wrap film from oracal and the gloss finish once applied is superb. . lacquered paint like finish !

i agree dave, but bubble free/air escape type vinyls are not to be used on deep or sharp reccesed areas due to many failures worldwide.

    Paul,

Hope you have found what you where looking for. Just a quicky i am thinking of going on the Roland Vehicle wrap course, how was it? For £600 do you come away knowing that you can wrap a full vehicle, i know its practice makes perfect but i presume you knew how to fit vinyl to vehicles if so, is it miles different far more difficult to wrap.

    Many thanks

    Paul

The Roland course is excellent but I certainly wouldnt class myself as a vehicle wrapper after attending it. I am not even offering it as a service until I have atleast tackled my own van.
