Hi everyone, just signing on (‘scuse the pun 🙂 ) for the first time.

I have been looking and checking many threads for a few weeks and now taken the plunge to join in the fun.

We run a small but growing company specialising in vehicle graphics, and being a designer by trade we ‘farm’ all our production out. But recently I have not been happy with suppliers so thinking very hard about getting a Printer/Cutter/Laminator and doing it ourselves….cutting out the middle man so to speak.

The Cadet v Versacam threads have been a very useful source of information but my main concern is the print quality. I really want to get as close to screen print quality as we can get but not the cost as we do mainly small runs and a lot of custom designing/printing. So any banding would be an issue.

Anyway, I’ll no doubt speak to many of you in the course of time.

    Cheers,
    Phil.

    Hi Robert,

yeah we have been costing up the cadet. One of our suppliers uses the Cadet Plus and has done a test for me at the highest res it can and it’s not bad. We usually have Epsom prints done then laminated but its tricky to cut and although the quality is excellent the cost is high and there is basically 3 layers to each print.

But also a concern is longevity for our work as we want our customers to be happy for years to come and it not just be a fad. Our market is growing and we are building a nice reputation amongst its community, so we want to stay ahead of the game with new ideas.
