• Fire doors

I recently looked at a small industrial unit and noticed there was no fire exit. It has a main doorway entrance with adjacent window – and a roller shutter door off to the right hand side, but no other means of exiting the building. I thought this was unusual as all the units I have ever seen always seem to have a separate fire door exit.

Does anyone know what the legal requirement is?

    Phil,
When I needed some advise re fire regulations I called the local Fire Brigade, they were very helpful.
If you dial 999 they’ll come round to see you almost immediately.

I dont know either Phill, but I recently looked at some small units offered by our council, they did not have separate fire doors either, and not even a toilet!
(there was a community toilet block though)

so maybe the council can make up their own rules….
