Filler for Excel Foamed PVC / Foamex, White?
Posted by David-Foster- on October 12, 2011 at 2:37 pmIs their such a thing as white plastic filler for Foamex for filling in the edges of cut sheets (the fine bubbles) and minor surface blemishes, indentations?
Self finishing and white to match the sheet, not being painted or covered in vinyl after.
Thanks

Don’t know about a plastic filler suitable but I have used silicone sealant in the past which seemed to work OK. Was the only thing I could think of at the time that would remain flexible without cracking if there was any problems with expansion.
Just thought, don’t know if it’s available in white but the sort of filler used for plastic bumpers and trim might do the job. That is suppose to be a flexible type of filler because of the movement with the plastic.

PVA is good for finishing the edges.
Won’t fill big holes though

Cheers Martin and Bobby. The edges are not too bad really, very fine bubbles, so PVA or Sealant might smooth it out. As the surface face is the finish I have a few nicks on the surface, might look at car body filler, again only small but visible at low level.
I remember a post about cutting letters out of foamex and filling the edges, but I think they were being sprayed after.

Painted letters are easier because you can get a primer filler.
The reason I stopped using foam when manufacturing letters was the time it took to prime and fill edges 10mm acrylic always won.
