Figures for shop facia sign
Morning everyone
I don’t do many shop facias but I need to get some kind of budget out of the client for a new shop they’re opening.
The shop width is around 5 metres and 1m high.
As a rough idea, want is the average cost for the following? Ideally I want to go to her with something like this… (These are just made up numbers by the way)
Composite board
£500 – £1000Sign tray with vinyl
£1000 – 2000Sign tray with fret cut letters
£2000 – £2500Sign tray with led letter
£2500 – £4000I know it’s a bit vague but if I have something to go to her with, hopefully I can stop any messing around.
Once I know roughly want she will spend and what she wants, I can work it out correctly, I just wanted some guide to get started.

I’m assuming that’s installed?
With the LED option does that include the electrical feed to the sign?
I’d say it’s fairly reasonable

That would be installed, I’m not qualified to do electrics so I would need to get someone in to do that part.
They were just rough figures I plucked out of the air but I thought it gave me a big enough scope to get their commitment on a certain sign,I just wasn’t sure whether it was accurate enough.
Would you say that was ok to go the client with then?

Yes doesn’t seem excessive to me, at first I thought 5x1m was large, but you could get it out of a couple of sheets.
Good to go armed with some kind of guide, so you’re not wasting your time.
I’d make a note on any estimate that the illuminated elements are supplied with tails, for qualified electrician to connect so it’s clear you’re not wiring it up.
Be sure to make sure they understand the price is fitted if there’s no remedial work required, you don’t want to be replacing the fascia behind at your expense. :thumbsup:

What do you mean?

If you rock up on site, remove the old sign, and find the wooden fascia behind is rotten. You don’t want to be replacing the wooden fascia behind at your expense.
If it’s solid and suitable crack on, if it’s a sack of crap, you don’t want to be fitting a sign to it and thing falls down.
Make sure the customer understands that any additional ‘hidden’ works to put this right are charged in addition to the quote.

It’s a brand new build so I should be fine although I’ll add that anyway for future quotes.
