feedback: Grenadier/Soljet
I was particularly please today when at around 5pm Andrew told me he had completed printing a complete Artic 44ft x 109" deep Truck Wrap in one shift.
we have done trucks this size before but they are always staggered over a few days amongst other print jobs, so i have never had an accurate time scale on producing a complete truck of this size, start to finish.
i will add, he didn’t just walk in this morning and begin printing, he did go about his other work whilst checking and running cut vinyl work.
it now has ample time to out gas over the weekend before being laminated and prepped ready for application.For the record:
Our machine is now over 3 years old, running a bulk ink system using Activasol Solvent Inks, never have we had any real issues with it and it is still on its first print head! There was no print flaws in any panels and everything run very smooth.as you can imagine, there is a few quid in one of these types of wraps so it is great to see that an old investment is still doing what it should 3 years down the line without a hiccup. 😀
anyway, if you have recently invested in a grenadier or a Roland Soljet (same machine) rest assured you have a good bit of kit! 😉

Well done, looks like the Uniform machine is doing good things there… I think the printers happy when all that ink is flowing, also good seeing it in full use.
I am just thinking back, the JV3 did a vinyl print for 3 lots of fascias and various internal wall prints of whole 50mtr roll long by 1650 wide and multiple odd items, we set the machine going Friday night around 23:00 hours on full set of carts, put it on take up… Bruce came in the morning around 10am on Sat, it finished during the night at some point, we quite often on the long prints leave it going overnight as the JV3 never needs head cleaning or attention apart from ink run outs but easily solved by putting full cartridges in. Also we good return on the ink, the magenta was near empty and all other carts just dropped a little. It was almost solid brown print.. well pleased we were, except we didn’t leave enough room between prints for lamination errors.

last (chat.)the Grenadier is a modified soljet. it has been re-tubed to accept a more aggressive ink call activasol. basically same machine, different ink…

since we got our Grenadier in october we haven’t looked back..its been running almost all day every day :lol1: definitely well worth the investment

We have had our soljet for over three years and it too has done us proud is still running constantly 11 hours a day.
We have had to replace the heads, I am not sure whether that was down to the operator more than the machine. (sticking screwdrivers where they didn’t belong).
They are definitely proven machines which are well worth the investment.

Hi Guys,
Just to back that up each Roland machine is built by 1 person by hand , failure rate is very low and re-sale values for second hand machines are very high.
