Faux Marble Sign Work:
Posted by Jill Marie Welsh on January 12, 2005 at 8:09 pmHere are 2 recent jobs I’ve done using a technique of faux
(or fake) marbling. The theater signs have a perimeter of it,
complete with veining. The Robinson Run sign is a bagged
finish with no added veins. Both have HP vinyl lettering.
It’s a nice way to add percieved value to your work
with only pennies in paint. And ANYONE can do it.
Rob will have a demo of this soon.

Steve!
Love yer globes, dude.
Those are some high-class signs.
I love the Stevens alphabets too.
I always root around and find the alternate “r” tho.
Marbling was the perfect addition to your signs. The greenish one of mine is for a housing plan,
the dreaded map/info bla bla bla thing.
Just trying to add some pretty to it.
What I love about the marbling is that you can “deepen”
the dimension just by the way you arrange your tones.
It IS fun, too.
My fingernails are still green 2 days later tho. 😳
