Hi all, curious which techniques you use to fade designs to nothing. Obviously on white its no problem but i often hate it when graphics just stop on coloured vehicles.

Im assuming one way to do it is to pick a pantone colour as close to the body colour and fade it into that? but i still think you would notice.
Ive also seen graphics stop with a tear line down it which i thought looked pretty good. Havnt managed to find any images myself to use tho.

Picture attached of the fade im talking about

    thanks

    Wrap the whole vehicle 😉

wrap all or wrap to the nearest gap. ie. the vehicle you’ve done above, fade it out to the leading edge of the door and stop there,

It only really works on clear if the van is white..

As has already been said – this would only work on a white vehicle as the CMYK print process requires a white background . This is how the example below was done (allowing the photo to fade to white). If the van had been black you wouldn’t have been able to see any of the print

ah right ok i see, makes sense so it could be done on other colours if you have the ability to print white?

Unless you have white ink. We bought the Epson S80600 for applications like this with white ink. Not had any takers for fades yet but backed clear stickers with white and it backs it up really well. We did do some tests and the darker the colour on the vehicle the more passes of white we had to do. Works really well and hopefully we can charge a premium for the added effects it brings.
