If you haven’t done so already I would suggest you convert any fonts used in your design to curves before importing it into another grahics package. This might help đ

I`ve had a quick play with the big “O”
Thought it was way too complicated. ( or am I just thick? )
I seem to remember theres 2 tabs. 1 like a polo mint, the other a filled in polo mint. Try playing around with these.
I`m sure someone will explain better.

Jaggedpixel,
Some additional information may yield a more appropriate response since there are times to âdo it this wayâ while other times it should be âdone that wayâ. Each case should be weighed against the final goal in mind with the actual design at hand. That being stated, my guess is you attempted a vector based save or export from Gerber since it didnât maintain a âcombinedâ presence in regards to the copy. If a raster based save or export was performed it should not provide such a result.
So, if vector based, I would suggest the eps format. When you arrive at the Save/Save As/Export dialog box, there is an âOptionâ button off to the right hand side. Left click the Option button and from the resulting dialog box, make sure to place a check mark next to the âOptimize for Color Printerâ . Proceed with saving/exporting as normal.
FYI, an advantage of opening a vector based file inside Photoshop is the ability to set the resolution/scale. Raster based images are already set. A downside with vector, from a Gerber environment anyway, is the precautions needed to avoid what you experienced; file integrity issues.
Saving/exporting a raster file âusuallyâ results in an image that reflects what you see on the screen in a filled mode. There are the rare times when this isnât the case, but for the most part, a very stable option. Some raster file formats even make provision for color profiles to be embedded with the file.
For additional information, take some time to read the Help file. Specific information on this topic can be found by doing a keyword search on the following; âExporting to an Encapsulated PostScript Fileâ. Additionally, any time spent reading the importing and exporting sections of the Help file could be considered a great investment of time that will pay dividends many times over.
Kev,
So how goes the Edge experience. Working out for you? Glad you brought it into your workflow?

A simple way around this!…..Omega exports all the info OK its the colour side of the programme that confuses things.
If you want to export trouble free in ai or eps export colour jobs using the Edge spot colours, you will import vector files into Photoshop or Illustrator with the centres being coloured correctly.
So mark your work select white vinyl and then start colouring it from the spot pallette, remembering to go up to the blue circle, Combine on, no problems.
Another way is to save a plt file in GA 6.0 or 6.2 and use the old file export filter gspcvtr.exe and export as ai or eps, that works correctly everytime.
Hope this helps or send files to me and I will help you out,
Henry

Thanks for the help Chaps, much appreciated. I will be taking all your advice in the morn. Got a Holiday inn job (30 hotels) that is taking forever to complete what with alll the weeding (tiny letters). Thought it might be a lot quicker to just run them through the Jetster. Worth a go anyway.
Thanks again Chaps! đ
