Bit of a long shot because I think most folks here are self employed, but we are looking for a fitter with some experience to help us keep up.

If you are interested, give me a call on 07860 754141.

Seventy four views – no takers. :sigh:

    Oh well, the search continues.

    I think I’d better cancel Christmas. 😀

One hundred and fifty one views. Still no takers. :sigh:

OK, if nobody wants a job, let’s try a different tack.

Any self employed fitters out there who would like to do some contract work for me? Corby based.

    Same phone number. 😀

Out of interest John how much you paying? Nah only kidding.

Have you advertised anywhere else? Seems crazy that you are getting no response. Are you willing to train someone up or looking for someone ready to start? I would never have guessed it would be difficult to find someone looking for a good job!

    Gavin,

    Fair rates. 🙂

I’ve not advertised anywhere else yet, but I think I will draw up a press ad tomorrow. Trouble is, with the holiday, it will be some time before it gets published, then there’s interviewing time, successful candidate’s notice periods etc etc. I’ll be had my nervous breakdown long before somebody could start. 🙁

No, I’m not willing to train anyone. I usually prefer to start from scratch, and we have a new trainee who has been here a fortnight, but I need somebody who can hit the ground running and be productive immediately with a minimum of supervision.

I don’t know what’s happening but it has gone absolutely crazy. We’ve had big jobs and busy periods before, but I’ve never known anything like this.

Then I’ve got one poster who thinks I should spend three months converting thousands of perfectly good Illustrator files generated over twenty years into some obscure proprietary format, and a couple of others who think I should rush out and buy a Christmas tree. :banghead:

Maybe the problem is what you said John most on here are

I think you’re right Lynn for a permanent member of staff, but I was hoping that there might be a self employed fitter looking for a bit of work, at what can be a quiet time of year. I’ve captured four, but some more would be handy.

It was worth a shot. 😀

Seems to be a shortage of fitters in the UK. Which can only be a good thing as far as wages go…. :lol1:

    Hi John

Always on the lookout for new clients! I see some familiar faces on here and some who know me well.I provide a trade fitting service and am based in Hemel Hempstead but travel all over I also know a couple of people near you if needed. Rob will pass on my contact details as I dont think I am allowed to post it here? I specialise in vehicle wrapping but tackle any specialist application. Hope this helps

Hi James, and thanks for the offer.

We’re fine at the moment. We are going through a bit of a lull in between batches of vans and are managing to cope. However, that can change very quickly and when it does I’ll give you a call.

Robert has already given me your contact details.

    Thanks again.
